2014 CrossFit Open – “May the WODs be ever in your favor.”

It’s that time – the first Open work out will be announced tonight at 5:00pm. If you’ve got a few minutes this evening at 5, check out a few of the top CrossFit athletes going head to head on this WOD and setting the pace for the rest of the world.

If you aren’t familiar with what the Open is, check out this video or just check out the games site. The open is 5 weeks of fun, competition, community and challenge.

Here’s how we’ll be running the Open in the gym: Every Thursday evening for the next 5 weeks, CrossFit HQ will release the WOD and we’ll program it for Friday’s WOD here in the gym. Everyone who comes in Friday will participate in this WOD and those who are signed up for the Open will be completing it as prescribed.

If you have signed up for the Open: You have until Monday at 5pm to get in, complete the work out and submit your score.You will be judged for rep count and full range of motion during your work out. You get the scores submitted, and we get them approved. If you miss the deadline on Monday, there’s not much we can do about it. If you absolutely can’t make it in on Friday to complete the WOD, we can run it for you during any other class time on Saturday or Monday (before 5pm). If we need to schedule outside of normal class times, we can do that too. Word of warning though – we will not be at the gym on Sundays.

Tomorrow night: We want to have some fun with this, so after the 6:30pm class tomorrow we’ll be hanging out at the gym for some beers to celebrate the first open WOD. Come in for the 6:30 class to participate or watch and cheer everyone on then stick around after. Bring friends and family – they are welcome to join in the fun!
